$12,995 for a 2004 F350 diesel??? Ok so what's wrong with the truck as that seems very cheap...
Whenever buying a used diesel one of the most important things is to get a log of the maintenance that has been done on the truck such as oil changes, filter changes, etc.

RE: Battery questions for dry camping for 4 days.
Ever consider replacing your 12-volt group 24 battery with two 6-volt batteries hooked up together? You will be amazed at how long these batteries will last...as for 2 hours of TV how do you plan on watching TV with no electricity? (asuming you don't have a 12V TV)...another option would be to borrow a generator from a friend? Trying to recharge by using your tow vehicle is really not an option due to the length of time it would take...
As for the furnace at night what we do is turn on the furnace about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before we hard to bed to take the chill out...turn off the furnace and climb under 2 blankets...turn on the furnace when you get up in the morning

Onan makes such a system and it its called Energy Command 20 or Energy Command 30...looks like you are looking for the Energy Command 30 option...

I think it's something that would work for a few people, but only those few that want to make several short trips to the same location over a two week period. Most people want to stay the whole time, or move on to other locales. It's also a good indicator of just how empty the state campgrounds have been. If Michigan is trying to entice people back to the state park campgrounds, they might consider cutting back on some of the charges that they have added or increased lately. That's the cause of most of the complaints that I hear.
$24.95/night for W/E, $33.95/night foe W/E/S, plus an $8.00 reservation fee plus the daily permit ($6.00/day) or annual pass ($24.00)...very high to start with but, in my opinion, discourages many non-residents to avoid state parks...

Tow a 14000 lb fifth wheel with a diesel and then tow the same fifth wheel with a gasser...no comparison as the diesel will get better gas mileage, you will have more power towing, and when you go to resell the diesels' are good at keeping their value...
I was faced with the same dilemna about 2 years ago...had an F250 gasser and came across a Chevy 1-ton dually diesel and more than glad I went with the diesel...

I have always been of the opinion that a 1/2 ton truck shouldn't be pulling any kind of fifth wheel except for those 20' or less...
You can never have enough truck...

Best thing to do is always use a credit card in Canada and let the credit card company figure out the correct exchange rate...exchanging US for Canadian and vice versa you always seem to lose out....latest exchange rate these days is 1 US dollar = 1 Canadian dollar

We usually just plug ours in if it gets 15F or below...you can also cover the front of the radiator in extremely cold weather which does seem to help...

Two things to remember: (1) always follow your routine; should you get interrupted START ALL OVER; (2) pull test (although this should be part of your routine always...and as a bit of advice get yourself some white paint and paint the jaws of your hitch white as just another visual check that the jaws are closed

Michigan State Parks are the same way and it makes it very cost prohibitive for non-residents to stay at our Parks when you consider $24.95/night for W/E PLUS an $8.00 reservation fee PLUS a $6.00 DAILY permit to enter the Park (you do have option to purchase a $24.00 annual pass)...

We each have a cell phone and use those when backing up the fifth wheel...I back up the fifth wheel while wife guides me via the cellphone...another option besides cell phones are the family radios...
